Winter/Christmas Ornament & Pins

As I mentioned, here are some Sculpey Clay pins/ornaments with a Christmas/Winter theme. I used Sculpey Clay and ran it through a clay machine (looks like a pasta maker) to get the clay flat. I used Noir Black Palette Ink and stamped my images onto the clay. For the snowflake, I just used a stamp without ink and pressed it into the clay. I used my small scissors and and a craft knife to trim them and put them onto a cookie sheet. I baked the clay in the oven as directed at 275° for 15 minutes. I let the clay cool and then decorated them.

Each pin/ornament has a separate post with details:

I made a cute little penguin as well. You can see him here:

St. Patrick's Day Irish Bunny

Here's a card I made last year. The background stamps (Plaid Background & Backgrounders) have been discontinued, but the little bunny is still available from The Angel Company. I'm posting it to remind you that you don't need St. Patrick's Day or Irish themed stamps to make cards for St. Patrick's Day. Just choose your favorite set and make it green!

How to use unmounted rubber stamps

Using unmounted stamps with acrylic blocks will not only save you money, but you will save storage space as well. All of The Angel Company unmounted rubber stamps come with cling mounting cushion (cling foam also sold separately) and a storage container. How to use unmounted rubber stamps - The Angel Company Rubber Stamps & Scrapbook Supplies TAC stamps

Once your stamp sets arrive, simply peel off the backing from the adhesive side of the mounting cushion and mount it to your rubber stamp. Next, trim the excess rubber using a sharp pair of scissors. I recommend the Kai Gold scissors (available in The Angel Company Catalog) as they are great for cutting rubber. Finally, peel off the backing from the cling side of the cushion and you are ready to go.

Still confused?

You are using the clear acrylic blocks to take the place of the wood mount. You will choose the appropriate sized block to fit your stamp and press your stamp onto the block. It stays in place by the cling mounting cushion. Once you are finished with the stamp, you peel it off of the mount and then place it back into your container. The older-style CD cases (not slimline) work perfectly for storage. You only need to purchase one set of acrylic mounts in a variety of sizes since you are using them over and over. I recommend the Acrylic Mounting Starter Kit (available in the TAC catalog for $14.00 plus tax & shipping).
